Use of Cookies

The focusgov website uses a number of cookies to enhance the user experience for visitors including:

  •  session cookies: these are temporary cookies that remain until you leave our website or close the browser window. We use these to carry information across pages of our website and in some cases, to prevent data from needing to be re-entered in data entry forms.
  •  third party cookies: these are from external analytics and social media bookmarking applications. These cookies have varying lifetimes but they help us identify unique, new and returning visitors to the focusgov website. They also help us compile anonymous statistics allowing us to understand how visitors are using our website, and how we may improve it and its content. None of these third-party cookies allow us to identify visitors personally.

Browsers allow you to accept or decline the use of cookies on websites by modifying the appropriate settings - see a useful guide on how to do this here. Should cookies be disabled you may not be able to use all the interactive features on the focusgov website. We are currently operating an ‘implied consent’ policy which means that we assume you are happy with this usage, but if you are not then please disable and delete cookies from your browser settings.

We may amend this policy in line with future changes in legislation or best practice.
