A new information and advice App will be available for healthcare professionals throughout Bath and North East Somerset.
April 2016 saw the Early Help team at Bath and North East Somerset Council conduct a survey of 100 professionals and practitioners working with families and young people about how they accessed information and advice. The key finding from the survey was that over 90% of respondents felt a dedicated smartphone App would be a hugely useful tool in their everyday work.
That driving force has led to BathNES commissioning the focusgov team to provide exactly that - an Early Help App that will be available for professionals throughout Bath to provide an accessible source of updateable information on a 24 / 7 basis.
It is believed BathNES will become one of the first local authorities in the UK to make content such as this available through a dedicated App, and forms part of the ongoing digital transformation of services, information and advice that local authorities are undertaking.
"The functionality within the App will start simple but focussed, meaning that the initial investment is manageable", says focusgov MD Simon Newing. "We can then assess the take-up and impact of the App and build further functionality as we get feedback from users".
The new App is expected to launch later in the summer of 2016.
