A one-stop toolkit for care experienced young people.

One app. Created for corporate parents and care experienced young people. To help deliver vital information, to support young people in making choices and to improve communication.

Here at Focusgov we call it the Care Leavers App. But across the UK it has many names. Why? Because each app is unique. Each app is co-produced with the young people who will use it – their voices determine its design, its name and its content. Right from the start, by involving care experienced young people they become the heart and remain the heart of the Care Leavers App.

From Camden’s Pocket PA to GMCA’s Bee Connected; from Ealing Cares to North Ayrshire’s CE4U and Haringey’s Skills for Life, our apps have been working for UK Local Authorities since 2019. So we have a track record of effectiveness and success in helping care leavers on their journey to independence. And we have a track record of bringing resource, administrative and cost savings to Local Authorities who have implemented the app.

Developed for Local Authorities in their role as corporate parents, this bespoke app is a source of comprehensive information, guidance and events which help and support care experienced young people with their Local Offer entitlements, with a home of their own, and with accessing education, training, employment and apprenticeships. And that’s not all – the app helps them access the directory of services, events, social activities, discounts & offers – and helps them stay in touch with the latest news through a social media style Newsfeed and stay in touch with their PAs through secure messaging. Plus we have unlimited surveys so that your young people can feed in and be heard on a variety of subjects and issues.

Fully accessible and available in over 100 languages the app is compliant with ISO27001, ISO9001, Cyber Essentials certified, and developed to meet WCAG 2.2 Accessibility Standards.

The result? An app which empowers Care Experienced Young People and empowers Social Care Professionals.
